FleetXchange was built in Gaborone, by people who watched how freight actually gets arranged in this region — and thought it could be done with a great deal less guesswork.
The problem
Someone needs a load moved. They phone a friend, who knows a guy, who has a cousin with a truck. Nobody checks whether that truck is insured or whether that driver is licensed. There is no record of what was agreed. Once the truck leaves, nobody knows where it is until it arrives — or does not. And when it is time to pay, both sides start chasing.
Meanwhile there are thousands of vehicles on the road running empty in one direction, owned by people who would happily take that load if they had known it existed.
FleetXchange exists to close that gap. Verified transporters on one side, real loads on the other, and a platform in the middle that keeps a record of what was agreed, where the cargo is, and who owes whom.
How we are built
Trying to serve a household moving a fridge and a mining company shipping across a border with the same product serves neither of them well. So we built two.
Self-service, in the app. Clients post loads, verified transporters bid, the client chooses. Fast, transparent, priced by the market. FleetXchange provides the platform, the verification and the payment rails — the two parties do the rest themselves.
Managed, in the web portal. We source and vet the transporter, run the bidding, coordinate the shipment across borders, review proof of delivery and handle the invoicing. The client deals with one party: us.
What we hold ourselves to
Nobody carries a load on FleetXchange without their documents being checked by a person. It slows onboarding down slightly. It is worth it.
Live tracking and a status at every stage, because “it is on its way” is not information.
Earnings credited on completion, withdrawals on a fixed weekly run. Transporters should not have to chase money they have already earned.
Botswana first, then the corridors around it. Border posts, permits and the realities of cross-border freight are designed in, not bolted on.
